History of Scoil San Carlo
Senior National School -

Samhlaíocht. Saothar. Cúram.

Scoil San Carlo Senior School opened its doors for the first time on September 2nd 1985.

The school crest's dominant colours are green, to represent the colours of Confey, yellow, to emphasise the joy the sun brings to our day and blue to represent the sky and rivers. The three yellow ripples represent the three waterways in Leixlip, namely the River Rye, the River Liffey & the Royal Canal.

Depicted on the school crest of San Carlo Senior School are the following items;

- A Viking Long Boat, which represents Leixlip's Viking Settlement.

-The Salmon, which has long been established with Leixlip. Léim an Bhradáin (Gaeilge) & Lax Hlaup (Danish) both refer to the Salmon Leaping.

-The Hill, irrespective of the derivation of it's name, Captain's Hill is a very significant landmark in Leixlip & provides the main access route to the parish of Confey.

-The Ruined Church, is symbolic of the Christian churches at Confey cemetery & St. Catherine's. Cill (church) is also found in the county of Kildare (Cill Dara - The Church of the Oak Wood).

-The Oak Tree, signifies and strengthens our links with Contae Chill Dara.
