Science experiment: 5th classes have been busy doing science experiments. The fifth classes were lucky to be involved in a science live project organized by Rediscovery Centre on Tuesday February 15th. The fifth classes carried out an experiment where they had to test household substances(vinegar, lemonjuice, bakingpowder, sugar water and washing up liquid) to see if they were acidic or basic. The children first had to pour a spoonful of each household item into a plastic cup. We then poured red cabbage (ph indicator) into each cup and noted the colour change. If the colour changed to a reddish/pink colour we knew the household item was acidic while if it changed to a greener colour, we knew the household item was basic.
